Spring Festivals Near Embrey Mill
The weather is warming, the birds are singing, and the flowers are pushing through to find the sun.
It’s official: Spring is at hand!
And as we celebrate the retreat of winter’s cold, two words come to mind: Spring Festival!
Indeed, spring has always been a season of celebration.
At Embrey Mill, it’s a time to watch birds prepare nests, enjoy more time outdoors at the parks and trails, and trade your warm coats for light jackets.
And near Embrey Mill, it’s time to enjoy these fun spring festivals:
National Cherry Blossom Festival – March 20–April 14
Its roots began over 100 years ago with a present from Japan, and the National Cherry Blossom Festival has been going strong since 1935. Celebrate the beauty this gift brought to the whole National Capital Region for four whole weeks!
View the blossoms from the Potomac River on a boat cruise or water taxi. Celebrate the petals by attending the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade. Take the family to Petalpalooza for a free, day-long experience everyone will enjoy—a day that ends with fireworks. With well-behaved pets allowed at many of the events, the National Cherry Blossom Festival is a great reason to explore the city with your whole family!
Capital Art and Craft Festival – March 22–24
A three-day festival in Chantilly, the Capital Art and Craft Festival brings together over 250 artisans—all in one place. You’ll find the best in clay and stained glass, witness textile crafts do things you never thought possible, and see how talented your neighbors are. You’ll also find things to eat and drink, from craft oils and vinegars, to boutique beef jerky, to specialty cheeses, to local honey.
The Capital Art and Craft Festival is a fantastic place to find presents, jewelry, and decoration for your Embrey Mill home. It’s also a fun way to experience new forms of artistic expression that might lead to a new hobby! That’s right: You could come looking for decadent Belgian chocolate truffle bars and leave with a passion for woodworking!
Fredericksburg Brew Fest – April 6
This festival is all about quenching that thirst that only craft brews can! Come to the Fredericksburg Agricultural Fair and get ready to enjoy the Fredericksburg Brew Fest. Enjoy live music, a curated collection of food trucks, and some of the best brewers, wineries, distilleries, and cideries in Virginia. This is one afternoon you don’t want to miss!
Talk to your favorite brewers, learn how the Virginia countryside is perfect for local grape varietals, and just have a blast toasting to new friends and new memories. Plus, every ticket includes a tasting glass and samples!
Brooke Point H.S.’s Dance & Football Team’s Spring Festival & Craft Fair – April 6
Celebrate and support a local high school at Brooke Point H.S.’s Dance & Football Team’s Spring Festival & Craft Fair. Just down the road, this festival features lots of unique vendors and crafters from all over the Stafford community. At the indoor Spring Festival & Craft Fair, you’ll find all sorts of jewelry, home décor, sweet treats, and handmade items.
And you’ll also enjoy performances by the Dance Team and (hopefully) win some door prizes! And because this even starts at 9AM, you could attend in the morning and then head to the Fredericksburg Brew Fest in the afternoon. Two festivals on the same day means you’ll be even happier spring is here!
NOVA Cider Festival – April 15
In the middle of April, head to the Bull Run Special Events Center for the NOVA Cider Festival. Here, you can sample (and purchase) over 30 different flavors of cider, listen to live music, and enjoy the bounty of local food trucks. You’ll be in a cider wonderland with local ciders and the best from across the country.
Ticket holders receive a complimentary tasting glass, and parking is free! But the organizers warn, though tickets will be sold at the door, they could be sold out early. So, if you’re interested in attending the NOVA Cider Festival, get your tickets today (and save $20 for advanced purchase) to ensure your spot. Because once they sell out, everyone who doesn’t have a ticket will just go thirsty!
