Annual Star Party
How many of you have looked up at night and told your child, “look you can see the face of the man on the moon?” Thanks to the Rappahannock Astronomy Club, (RAClub) we can help explain why the moon seems to have a face. We look through their high powered telescopes and see for ourselves that the “face” is actually dark areas of the moon or “seas” contrasting with the light highlands of the lunar surface. I personally will never stop calling it the “Man on the Moon”.
The RAClub is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of public interest in, and knowledge of the science of astronomy. This is the third year we have hosted a “Star Party” in our community. We have a wonderful curious group of young people and parents alike. There is so much we can explore so this summer grab a blanket and take time to go out at night and look up at the moon and stars.
